Journalistes et chercheurs en journalisme : écart de temps

Abstract : The article suggests questioning the temporality of journalists and researchers in journalism by revealing their points of difference but also convergence. Led from a case study within the sector of Information-Communication of the University of Reunion Island, the purpose is to observe the sometimes difficult confrontation, between scientific approach and journalistic professional practice. This tension is particularly observed in the relationship with time of the various actors: journalists, students, professional teachers, and teachers-researchers. The collected data comes from an experiment that lasted fifteen years within this sector as well as surveys conducted in newsrooms of Reunion island. They are problematized in the prism of a historicization of this relationship with time, considered as a habitus of groups. Thus they reveal the collective objectives specific to each category.
