Désordres psychiques, croyances et clinique ethnopsychiatrique

Abstract : At Reunion is. the practice of psychotherapy has to compose with the inhabitant’s polycultural character. Numerous families, consulting at St-Denis’ CMPP, attribute the origin of their psychological disorder to exogenous causations (animistic, mystical or magical). The best way for psychotherapists is to link their practice to an ethnopsychiatric method. This kind of psychotherapy refers to universal rules and principles: the authors recall is that this practice keeps on an interpretation’s theory which is underlied by a theory of mind.
