L’effectivité de l’encadrement juridique de la médecine traditionnelle à Madagascar

Abstract : From the ancient times, the Malagasy health care system has been dominated by the ordinary use of traditional medicine. It has always been freely performed although its practice and protection are steadily weakened by emerging modern medicine. From a legal point of view, the precariousness of the traditional medicine brings up the right to health for all and the freedom to traditional healers. Therefore, a legal monitoring seems crucial in Madagascar. However, its effectiveness remains delusive. On the one hand, the authorities do not really display an absolute commitment to the law compliance. On the other hand, monitoring happens to be a mean to wipe out traditional healers.
