Trajectoires de sortie de chômage chez les diplômés de l'université : l'exemple des filières Droit et Économie à La Réunion

Abstract : Through typical clusters (Law and Economics) which have been produced, we’ll try and find independant variables which could explain the different employment rates for high graduates. Could a long term unemployment period be explained by a wrong vocational choice disconnected from the opportunities on job markets ? Do young people have disproportionate demands for jobs in comparison with their career profile and experience or have they understood the phenomena of vocational relegation or downgrading ? Have wait and see strategy, reluctance for relegation, structural burdens (location, gender, family responsibilities, age) an impact on career trajectories ? Finally, could university specialities explain these differences ? This paper will lean on a longitudinal analysis based on a group of beginners who will be observed during a period of 30 months (2004 to the end of 2006) in Reunion Island.
