Oral sessions to encourage lexical reuse: example of three characters’ mental states in tales of deceit (students aged between 10 and 13)

Abstract : We report on an educational experiment conducted in six classes, at three levels, between February and May 2018. Our research aims to measure the impact of several oral-based teaching sessions on the reuse of vocabulary in written work. The experiment encourages the reuse of lexical items from the semantic network of deceit through a series of alternating written and oral activities. We analyse the students’ lexical performance in expressing three mental states: anger, deceit and naivety.
