Du portage au porté. L’acroyoga, une médiation thérapeutique au service de l’adolescent

Abstract : If holding is a fundamental step in the development of the person, it is also a central concept in psychomotricity. The baby who is held, rocked and contained feels safe and gradually integrates his psychic and body unity. Becoming a teenager, he needs this sense of security more than ever to accept the transformations he experiments, and to become able of holding in his turn. According to Suzanne Robert-Ouvray's theory of shoring, in the opposite case, the integration of his unit can be disrupted, which may result in difficulties on the motor, psychic and affective levels. Psychomotor therapy then appears as a way to restore this process using holding and lift techniques. Physical holding is an effective tool that allows to develop a tonic and emotional interaction between the patient and the psychomotor therapist and to access archaic experiences. Our research aims to evaluate, in the context of mental health, the impact of holding on teenagers with a shoring disorder. The presented case studies aim to assess whether the process of psychomotor integration was restored or not, thanks to a new mediation, namely acroyoga. The encouraging results open a discussion on the use of this mediation in the psychomotor practice and its potential with adults and teenagers.
