Le Réel de l'anticipation au XIX e siècle

Abstract : The french utopias and science-fiction novels of the nineteenth century pretend to offer to us a vision of the future but when we study the cultural history we see that this texts didn't really innovate. They just imagined a world where the contemporary inventions would be currently in use. This world was a strange compromise between the past, the present and the future. The utopias and the first works of science-fiction mainly innovate in what the customs and the social models are concerned.
