Patrimoine et histoire locale : enjeux didactiques et pédagogiques

Abstract : The concepts of cultural heritage and historical monuments are often confused in everyday language. However, they are composed of distinct notions in particular with regard to meaning and have different chronologies. It is necessary here to focus on an analysis of the unfolding relationships that societies have sustained with these two notions while dwellingon the development of sensitivities in particular. Furthermore, the relevance of including both local history and heritage in civic education will be questioned on the one hand, and on the other in order to acquire specific competencies relevant to the subject of history.
