Former les enseignants à la relation pédagogique, une priorité

Abstract : In the current context, the most disturbing factor for the teaching profession is the establishment of a quality teacher-pupil relationship. This has become increasingly difficult to maintain due to various upheavals such as the development of violence at the very core of our schools, the weakening of the family structure, the emergence of different types of behavior based on the use of communication and information technology, coupled with the withdrawal of state funding. Stress and a lack of recognition are symptoms of the malaise of teaching, affecting the majority of primary school teachers from now on. While the duration of vocational work experience schemes for NQT* has been cut back to just a few weeks, both the objectives set out by the Department of Education and the needs expressed by primary school teachers demonstrate the necessity for new types of training courses which embody approaches on different levels in both human and social science, relevant communication techniques adapted to the day-to-day reality of the conduct of a given class group, while reinforcing teachers’ personal development and their commitment to the creation of a high quality teacher- pupil relationship.
