The text analyzes how Alonso de Ercilla (1569-1589), in his epic poem La Araucana, enhances the honor of their indigenous players: Caupolicán and Glaura, ignoring the central role of blacks in the conquest of Chile, only see in them creatures moved by the vilest instincts.

El texto analiza la forma como Alonso de Ercilla (1569-1589) en su poema épico La Araucana, realza la honra de sus protagonistas indígenas: Caupolicán y Glaura, ignorando el papel protagónico de los negros en la conquista de Chile, solo vio en ellos seres guiados por ruines instintos.
