Structures universitaires et dynamique territoriale. Une illustration : le Nord-Pas-de-Calais
Résumé
The academy of Lille, with over 160,000 students, is the second biggest in France after Paris ; it is bigger than those of Versailles, Lyon or Toulouse. The six public universities, with their integrated engineer schools and their IUT (vocational higher education colleges), train about two thirds of those students, short-term trainings having more weight in this academy than in any other one. After pointing out the main stages of the constitution of this network of institutions, we shall focus on the following education zones : Valenciennois, Artois and Littoral. We shall also study the contexts in which these institutions were established, the various parties involved as well as the underlying logics and repercussions in terms of educational offer and territoriality. The analysis of the regional educational organization charts will throw light on all these stakes.
L’académie de Lille, avec plus de 160 000 étudiants, est la deuxième de France après Paris et précède Versailles, Lyon ou Toulouse. Les six universités pu-bliques, avec leurs écoles d’ingénieurs intégrées et les IUT, en accueillent près des deux tiers, le poids des formations courtes étant plus important qu’ailleurs2. Après avoir rappelé les grandes étapes de la constitution de ce réseau d’établissements, nous nous focaliserons sur les pôles du Valenciennois, de l’Artois et du Littoral en nous demandant dans quels contextes ces implantations sont intervenues, quels ont été les acteurs impliqués, les logiques sous-jacentes et les répercussions en termes d’offre éducative et de territorialité, l’analyse des schémas régionaux de formation éclairant tous ces enjeux.
