Représentation sociale des écosystèmes marins côtiers à partir de dessins d’enfants. Une étude comparative entre Tuléar (Madagascar) et Perpignan (France)

Abstract : We present a research on representations of the marine ecosystem based on drawings of elementary school children from communities with different environmental, socioeconomic and cultural contexts: Perpignan (France) and Tuléar (Madagascar). The methodology is based on an interdisciplinary approach in ecology and anthropology, in which an ethnographic study was developed on the context in which the drawings are made as well as on the use of a coral reef education awareness kit about biodiversity conservation and sustainable development. Results suggest that Malagasy children representations are highly related to the exploited resources and practices connected to the marine resources while the French ones are rather related to recreational activities.
