Les ports commerciaux d’Afrique du Sud

Abstract : South Africa’s seaboard comprises seven commercial ports. In this study, six choremes have been constructed, taking account of historical factors, the nature of the hinterlands, differences between the port cities, relations with the foreland and the port hierarchy. This graphic representation provides a better understanding of the development, role and port functions of South Africa in economic transition.
