Une littérature tropicale ou trop piquante?

Abstract : Born in 2000 in Reunion Island, the collection “Tropicante” already includes thirteen titles that inscribe themselves into an editorial line characterized by several points: their approach to contemporary social problems, how the texts are all illustrated by works from professional artists, how they develop the concept of Indian Ocean and place child actors on stage capable of reflecting social issues. The work continues with “Où sont les enfants?” (“Where Are the Children?”) which is a prolific combination between literary text and photography. In this respect, this article sets out the following themes of discussion: universal themes and their regional setting, the author’s intentions and the reader’s perspective, and the frontier between fiction and reality.
