Abstract : A new manoalide-related sesterterpene, 24-O-ethylmanoalide (I), was isolated from the Indian Ocean sponge Luffariella cf. variabilis, together with the known compds. manoalide, seco-manoalide, manoalide monoacetate and 24-O-methyl-manoalide. The structure of compd. I was elucidated by interpretation of its spectroscopic data.
